Walter Burleigh Griffin, a disciple of Frank Lloyd Wright, clearly patterned the Australian War Memorial on the facade of the Dana House in Springfield Illinois.

Plus, right beside a railway line, an heiress with powerful spiritual urges built a Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece and then partied and conducted religious devotions until her money ran out.

She built this house on the site of her father’s mansion, which she had demolished. Are you paying attention, Sigmund Freud.

Meanwhile, someone knows that Springfield is famous for someone besides Abe.

Someone else recognized that the face on the race riot monument resembled Obama.

This likeness didn’t please “Mary”:

I don’t want the likeness to be Obama. This lionization of the President is deeply disturbing.
What has His family done in the cause of American freedom? His black roots are not even American, but African. He does NOT share the struggle of those born here whose ancestors were slaves.

The likeness is NOT Obama but someone who looks like him, according to the artist. If we’re going for authenticity, then the likeness should be someone like MY ancestor, who was a drummer boy in one of the N.Y.Union Irish regiments.
Or does his being white eliminate him from consideration?
